You know that old philosophical thought: “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” Well, in the world of online marketing, there’s the similar question of: “If a business opens and isn’t easily findable online, does the business really exist?”
You need to get your business online; there’s no question about it. And let’s face it, with all the easy website building solutions available, there’s really no excuse for a business to not have some sort of online presence.
Two of the most popular foolproof website builders available are Wix and Weebly. How did they become so popular? Well, beyond providing a super user-friendly product, they also do a whole lot of advertising.
Let’s take a peek into the campaigns of these two major advertisers and see who placed it best…

The winner of this round: Wix
Customers who are in the market for an easy-to-use website building platform are essentially looking for one thing: simplicity. So, when it comes to the campaign structure, be sure to keep it, well… simple!!
Check out the flow behind Wix’s campaign above – see how straightforward it is? The copy and the call to action both clearly invite people to create a website now.
While Weebly isn’t too far off from this campaign structure, the simplicity of Wix’s dedicated landing page is what drives this campaign message home.
Homepages and landing pages have different functions. Your homepage is for the browsing customer who specifically searched for you and is there to learn about all you have to offer. Dedicated landing pages have one purpose – to help the user follow through with the call-to-action in which they have been given. Weebly’s use of their homepage as their ad’s landing page opens up a lot of room their leads to get lost in all the content of their site.
While both advertisers are certainly putting forth some stellar campaigns, Wix wins this month’s who placed it best.
That’s it for this month’s edition of ‘Who Placed It Best’. Do you have two advertisers you’d like to see go head to head? Send us a request in the comments or Tweet @WhatRunsWhere.
